Dear Internet,

As you may know I have mad love for Lancome and I do so adore the The Lancome Blog, it is for sure one blog I check everyday. They post all kinds of really cool "insider" things plus they do awesome giveaways. Well lo and behold I won one of the giveaways, it was for three brushes that Kerry loves (she is the PR/VP). I was so excited it was just after my dismal Christmas and brushes like most "basics" are just something I loathe to spend money on!!! I emailed her my address and included a picture of my palette of yumminess and that was that.
I rec'd the box on Friday....
I absolutely have no words for how incredibly awesome this was to receive, in addition to the 3 brushes there were all these other wonderful Lancome products....Even now, three days later I am finding it hard to express myself properly, the generosity absolutely sends me over and beyond the moon!!! There is not one thing that I will not use and love.
So Internet I just want you to know that Lancome rules my world!!!
Yours in CoCo,
Lisa

O My BoBo Rose

So here I was wallowing in my unfortunate financial situation and dreaming of owning the new Lancome spring collection when I realized I have basically been wearing this look since last summer. And it really is not a true BoBo look since I use Lancome products with a couple of exceptions....
For the eyes I have been using - Excursion,Designer,Strut, and the hi-light color from the Sparkling Green Duo.From right to left.
For the rest of the look I used Shimmer Mandarin Sky blush and the following two brand exceptions, Urban Decay's Covet 24/7liner and Dior's Corail #537 lipstick. From top to bottom.

All and all pretty awesome and very lovely if I say so myself. Normally the words "making do" and "pretty close" send me over the edge but I really think in this case I am content to settle. I am however still coveting the Pop N' Cheeks blush just because I think it looks cool but I'm not totally convinced it is worth saving pennies for...

The Collection as of 12/31/09

I better record this before I forget so that I have a visual to compare with at the end of the year...

I'll try any product by Lancome but I do try to stay only with eyes and lips in Dior, we will see how that works out in 2010.

I have a huge crush on Rock & Republic, their colors are so yummy and while I like NARS  I could resist that line if I had to. Stila you do suck me in but I think I could walk away and Kat Von D? Your palettes are just too hard to resist and those greens are just too delicious.

Smashbox? I really do need to quit you not that you are not lovely but just because I need to...MAC? I resist you but your lipsticks and mineralize line continue to suck me in. With the exception of the eyeliners I think the rest of you randomness could wander off and I would not be too sad. I do worship the Guerlain kohl it is the ultimate liner. The Lancome gel liner is nothing but a huge disappointment BUT it might just be operator error..

Face stuff, no thoughts as it is what it is....Lips? Ditto...

Finally Bare Escentuals, what is there to say? I keep fallin' in and out of love with you....My collection is probably a third of what it was however you sucked me in with the pearl collection on QVC if the rest of the series is anything like the first collection I will be very happy. I did temper my love with a picture of a jacka** on the box just to remind me that you are a deceptive siren.

What new loveliness will 2010 bring?

Saving Pennies Once Again

I am slowly coming out of the cold weather funk, it really did a number on me. I called over to Saks to reserve the new Chris & Tell by Lancome because it seemed like the right thing to do. I was told they expect it around Valentines Day, what a lovely trinket to me from me with love....

Resolution Update - Week One

Well how shall I spin this? It is really really cold here and my skin is not finding it lovely at all. While I did remove the makeup I wore during the day I found myself only using L'Occitane shea butter both morning and evening. The thought of potions and lotions had no allure for me at any time of day. All I wanted was soothing buttery goodness on my face.
You know what's crazy? The skin looks really good. I mean I'm rather amazed actually. I might just  have to ponder my skincare routine in general.....
Oh yeah the Clarisonic? Twice!
The 6 out of 7 nights? How about 7 out of 7? I'm telling you it's all about the shea butter!

I Need to Shop....BUT

I can't. This lack o' job really blows. In honor of that let's look at the drawer of stupidity or....
"the what a waste drawer"

I could definitely spree on some new Dior and Lancome with the waste of money here....
There is even more not shown but that has been deemed unworthy of even a second chance. I just need the courage to toss it.

The Colors of LisaLand (a beautiful place to live)

So today I had to spend $20.87 for the eyeshadows from the MAC in Lillyland collection....

I really had no choice, while I may dress in black from head to toe, I live in a pink and green flowered bower...Just lovely,,,,,,
I saved pennies (literally) in order to buy this, when I first saw the promo pictures I knew I must have it.

Dear L'Occitane,

I love you deeply for making the lovely shea butter tins! When it is cold in Florida and my skin feels so dry, I rub a dollop between my hands and smooth it all over my shrinking, shriveling face and I feel divine.
XOXO,
Lisa

Arts & Crafts w/Lancome

I have mad love for Lancome. I think their eyeshadows are lovely, however the individual pots are annoying. So I depotted them and put them all in a MAC 15 palette which of course I had to fanci-fy. I think it looks quite lovely, I also made one for my 4 lone matte shadows.

Here is the filled 15 pan palette...Just Lovely

Resolution

Why did I buy a Clarisonic over two years ago and have used it maybe 20 times or so? Hmmm....I am just a lazy slob I guess.  I have a cabinet full of skincare that is doing me no good just sitting there. I am really good about the AM routine it is just the PM routine where I fail. My favorite counter girl told me to do it early in the evening before I sink into lazy mode. Maybe she is right?
Resolution  - I will "do" my skincare routine at least 6 evenings a week, I need one night to be a slacker.
OK since now it's out there, will I follow through?

The Collection

So I spent New Years eve documenting my collection of loveliness. Mainly to admire it's colorful goodness as well as to have a visual of my foolishness.

This is where I keep my most beloved items.....

This is my table where I keep the overflow....

I think I shall address the contents on another day.

Why....

I am slightly obsessed with make-up, I love the colors, the packaging, the names....I like to read about it, I like to wear it, and I love to look at it. However I need to hold my self accountable for my sometimes foolish obsession.
I have decided to try to follow some rules this year....
There are really only a handful of brands I truly find lovely and I plan to stick only with them.
I will stop wasting time and money on drugstore items as I am always disappointed, and frankly the packaging is often (always?) ugly.
I will not get caught in some hype/frenzy over a product or a brand.
I think these three rules alone will serve me well this upcoming year, well we shall see...
